How Finode handles your money and data.

Finode can see your accounts. It can never move your money, and every number it shows you can be checked against where it came from.

A number you can’t check is decoration.

The same five rules hold on every screen in Finode.

  1. 01

    Missing is never zero

A price we couldn’t get, or a balance nobody entered, marks the total as incomplete and is named beside it. We never round a gap down to make the math look tidy.

  2. 02

Every total says what it left out

Transfers between your own accounts, positions we couldn’t price, accounts not yet connected — listed right beside the number they were left out of.

  3. 03

    Our assumptions wear our name

A return rate, a tax rate, an inflation figure — anything we assumed rather than read from your accounts is labelled as ours, never blended into your figures.

  4. 04

    Documents become figures, not files

We read the numbers off a statement or policy you upload and keep those. The document itself is never added to your account. A copy stays in our processing logs for 30 days so a bad reading can be diagnosed, and is then deleted.

  5. 05

    Two-factor by default

On every account, with no way to turn it off. And deleting your account deletes it — connections revoked, your data removed, no coming back.

Your accounts, your data.

Read-only connections

Bank and brokerage connections run through Array Financial Links, operated by MoneyKit. You sign in to your bank with them, never with us, and the connection can read balances, transactions and holdings — it cannot move money, place a trade or change anything at your bank. Disconnect at any time.

Encrypted, and walled off

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the databases that hold it cannot be reached from the public internet.

Few people, on purpose

Staff access to production data is limited to the people who need it to run the service, and our operational records use internal references rather than your name or email.

Informs, never instructs

Finode tells you what changed and what it means. It never tells you to buy or sell anything — it is not an investment adviser, and nothing in it is investment advice.

Point this at your accounts.

One connection, or a screenshot of your brokerage app. Everything above starts working the moment you link something.
